GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURES

Transportation

For your child’s safety, please notify me in writing if there are any changes in the way your child will be going home from school. Without written instruction from you either through note or email, your child will be sent home in the usual manner.  (We cannot accept verbal changes from your child or a sibling).

If a last minute transportation change arises, please call the front office before 2:15and they will notify me.

Arrival

Attendance is very important to your child’s progress. Children arriving at school between 7:25-7:40 will wait outside their classroom sitting against the wall in the hallway.  (We do allow students to come directly into the classroom on the first two days of school only.)

The earliest a student may arrive is 7:15am and they will be asked to go to the cafeteria. The cafeteria is the only place a child will be supervised between 7:15-7:25am.  Class begins promptly at 7:45.  Students arriving after 7:45 will need to report to the school office for a tardy slip before coming to the classroom.  If arriving after 8:30, the student’s lunch choice will need to be turned in to the office.

Dismissal

Students are dismissed at 2:45pm.  Students line up in the second grade hallway and are escorted by second grade teachers to their dismissal areas. Please do not come to the classroom to pick up your child. Students will be waiting for pick up at the following areas:

  • Car Riders: Students will be picked up by car only at the designated car rider line behind the school. Please make sure to have a sign posted on your dash with your students name on it. Signs will be provided at open house. Please let me know if you need a sign if plans change after that time.

  • Walkers: Students will be picked up outside in the front.

  • Day Care/Bus riders: Students will be picked up in the front of the school by their daycare or bus provider.

  • YMCA: Students will go to cafeteria/gym corridor.
